The symposium Veterans Art & Mental Health was held in conjunction with the exhibition War Is Always With Us on September 18, 2015. Keynote speaker and photographer Walter Putrycz spoke about David Byrd, his own experiences as a veteran with PTSD, and how creating artwork helped in his recovery. Other speakers included Shawn Ganther & Yvette Pino from The Veteran Print Project. Veterans Shawn Ganther (USAF) and Yvette Pino (US Army), who are both active in the veteran artist movement and have exhibited in the Veteran Artists Program at the Pentagon (2014), Pino is the founder of the Veteran Print Project. The event was organized by David Wells, Edgewood College.
